Stay the Same

What happens now?

As this project moves into its next stage I will be shifting my focus away from this website to the task of editing.

The first stage will be to watch my entire year back, approximately sixty hours of footage, in order to gauge exactly the film I have. I will then start selecting the moments which speak out in some way.  Putting the film together will take months. It will an intense process requiring a different kind of reflection that I am not going to share here.

Once I have a rough cut I will then start working with a composer to create an original score for the film. I am hoping to finish the final film by the end of this year and screen it for the first time here in Knoydart.  The internet and this website has been an important part of the project, but the final film has been imagined for the large screen and am hoping it will be exhibited in this way first.

I will post updates on press and screenings for the film once it is finished on the Tiny Spark Productions website and the films facebook page.

I will however keep collecting and posting responses to the project on this site. I have been really moved by the ones I have had so far. Even the negative stuff has been really interesting. It seems this project seems to have captured peoples imaginations in some way. I hope the final film lives up to this.

If you would like to post a response, in any form, to any of the themes of the film; to the act of stopping and standing still in the same place for a year, to the way we relate to nature and our own mortality or our attempts to capture the moments in which we exist then email me direct or staythesame@tinysparkproductions.com
